Again?

We were blessed once again with snow in Midland. And this time, it was record breaking! We had 10.6 inches of snow...in one day. It was crazy fun but around here, we don't have snow plows...we don't have proper sand trucks...we don't have snow shovels....we don't have ice scrapers (well actually we do but only because we got one while skiing in Colorado). The boys just love the snow and we're equally blessed to have proper clothing to play out in it. Our friends our out there with rain boots, ziplock bags over their sock covered hands, 2 pairs of pants and shirts tied around their heads. Okay, so maybe not the shirts. It does get cold enough here to need a winter hat...or at least I think so.

Talan greatly enjoys the refreshing snow. We actually got caught out in this storm as it was very lightly sleeting when we left the house at 9am. Within an hour of switching to snow, we had over an inch! We had to wait until after nap time to play but it was well worth the wait. By then there was already 6 inches on the ground with no signs of stopping. You can see our fence is nearly covered!

This is what it looks like to be buried under 6 inches. After a closer look, this is him breaking free of his snow capsule.

Levi wasn't in a big picture taking mood but I managed to snap one of him. Look at all the snow still falling!

Their swing set was covered in snow so we had Talan stand under it while daddy swept the snow off...you know...so the roof doesn't cave in. Love this shot of it hitting him in the head.

I love my men in this photo but all of the snow keeps snagging my attention. As Talan put it, "It's like we're in a snow globe and God is shaking us." We gave many thanks to God after this great storm.

This shot reminds me of Talan when he was a baby. Just the way his jaw has that straight line. The goofy face is him eating the fresh snow. And yes, we made snow ice cream for the first time. It was rather yummy! 1/2 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1tsp of vanilla and enough snow to make it creamy. I wonder if you could add cocoa powder to make it chocolate? I hope we have another snow storm soon so we can find out! And to date this winter, we've had 19 inches!
